India Post GDS Second Merit List 2026: The Department of Posts is expected to release the second merit list for Grameen Dak Sevak (GDS) Recruitment 2026 soon. The first round has been completed, and the merit list was announced on 6 March 2026. The recruitment process is for 28,636 posts for the posts of Branch Postmaster (BPM), Assistant Branch Postmaster (ABPM), and Dak Sevak. The first round ended on March 23. According to various media reports, the second merit list is likely to be released in the first week of April. Document verification Mandatory
Candidates whose names are found in the second merit list will be called for document verification. Officials have made it clear that this step is mandatory, and candidates who fail to complete it within the stipulated time will lose their candidature.Candidates are also required to produce original educational certificate, identity proof and other relevant documents during verification.The selection criteria is still purely based on merit, and candidates are shortlisted purely on the basis of marks obtained in class 10th.
