gave University Grants Commission (UGC) has extended the last date for admissions to Open and Distance Learning (ODL) and Online programs for the academic session 2025-26.As per the official notification, the last date for admission in February 2026 session has been extended to 10th April 2026. Earlier, the deadline was March 31, 2026.The decision was taken after receiving several applications from Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). The extension will allow more students to complete their admission process.
UGC Admission Deadline Extension
The commission has also extended the last date for submission of admission data on the UGC Distance Education Bureau (UGC-DEB) portal. Institutions can now submit admission details till 13 April 2026.All higher education institutions offering programs through ODL or online mode are advised to follow the revised timeline and comply with UGC regulations.

The UGC has also asked students to carefully verify the recognition status of the programs before taking admission. Candidates should check whether the course and institution is approved under ODL or online mode.The Commission has also issued public notices advising stakeholders to take necessary precautions before enrolling in programs offered through distance or online learning modes.Some of the UGC recognized universities offering ODL programs are National Sanskrit University, Rajiv Gandhi University, Tezpur University, University of DelhiJamia Millia Islamia, Central University of Haryana, Mahatma Gandhi International Hindi University, Pondicherry University, and Maulana Azad National Urdu University, Hyderabad.Students are advised to visit the official website regularly for further updates and complete their admission process before the revised last date.Read available official notices Here
