A powerful drive from Connolly struck Iyer on the wrist at the non-striker’s end, forcing him to seek medical attention.Iyer looked in considerable pain as the physio attended to him on the field, applying ice to the injured area.However, there was relief all around when Iyer appeared smiling for the post-match presentation.“All I can say is it’s good. It’s the same as before. I don’t want to shake anything. I just want to stay positive and hope everything goes well,” he said during the post-match presentation when asked about the injury.Debutant Cooper Connolly scored his maiden half-century as Punjab Kings chased down a target of 163 in 19.1 overs to record a three-wicket win at the New International Cricket Stadium in PCA’s New Chandigarh on Tuesday.
“Honestly, I was concentrating on my hand inside, iced it and then suddenly we lost two wickets back-to-back. These things happen in the IPL and you have to stay calm and composed in those situations. So the message was very simple. Just take the game to the end and Cooper was there. He was quite set. And he played a great game as in the past. He has a great mentality playing for Australia and hopefully he Will continue with the same form,’ said Shreyas while praising Cooper’s innings.“Some of the shots he played, it was unreal to watch. It was unbelievable.
