Jisshu Sengupta He is all set for the release of his next film directed by ‘Bhooth Bangla’ Priyadarshan. The actor is currently promoting his film on various platforms. In one such interview, he spoke about controversial songs and added that such songs attract the most attention mostly because the audience continues to consume them.

In an interview with IANS, Jisshu Sengupta said, “You can’t blame the lyricists or creators for making such songs because people are listening to them.”The Bengali film actor added, “Songs that create controversy get the highest number of views and likes. So why listen to them? If you don’t like it, don’t listen. Plain and simple.”Sengupta said, “The industry has too Gulzar sahab and Javed sahab. What you want to hear, hear it. What you don’t want to hear, don’t hear it. It’s entirely up to you.”The actor also insisted that he prefers to stay away from negativity. He stated, “I can comment on something that may create controversy, but I don’t want to. Why create negativity when there is already so much around us? I am a very positive person, and I would like to hear from Gulzar sahib and Javed sahib, which I do.”Jisshu also highlighted the diversity of talent across sectors. “There are many other lyricists who have done incredible work not only in Bollywood but also in Marathi, Punjabi, South and of course Bengal. You can’t compare Rabindranath Tagore with any of them. In fact, I wouldn’t compare Gulzar sahib or Javed sahib with anyone.”The actor also emphasized that ultimately the audience shapes the trends. “It’s up to you what you want to hear. Creators will create what they know best, and if people consume it, they will follow. For example, I love listening to Javed sahab and Gulzar sahab.”

Directed by Priyadarshan, it is titled ‘Bhooth Bangla’ Akshay Kumar. The film was supposed to hit theaters on April 10; however, the date has changed amid the ‘Dhurandhar’ wave. The film stars Akshay Kumar, Rajpal Yadav, Paresh Rawal, Tabu, Wamiqa Gabbi, Mithila Palkar, Rajesh Sharma and veteran star Asrani. It will hit theaters on April 17, 2026.
