A total of 932 candidates have been recommended for appointment to 947 posts on 24 posts. The result follows a multi-stage selection process that rigorously evaluates the candidates. Earlier, the PCS Mains Result, which was declared on February 4, 2026, shortlisted 2,719 candidates for the interview round. Interviews were held between February 26 and March 23 during which 21 candidates were absent. The final merit list is prepared based on the combined performance of the candidates in the written test and interviews.Among the top achievers, Ananya Trivedi has bagged the second position. His phenomenal performance in the exam reflects a journey shaped by discipline and clarity of purpose. Speaking to ANI, she said, “I have secured the second rank in UPPCS, 2024. I would like to give credit to my mother. My uncle has given me a lot of personal guidance.
Consistency is the key.
Everyone has their own mantra for success. For Anya, it was consistency. “I prepared consistently. I will also give UPSC exams in future. I did my preparation at home,” she told ANI. Along with consistency, movement also plays an important role. He said, “A person can be discouraged only when either he lacks internal motivation or the external conditions are not favorable. In that case, you need a mentor who can guide you well.“
The number of hours is not the main ingredient of success.
Perhaps it is always quality over quantity. Ananya’s success story is proof of this adage. “I used to study only for 6 hours, but 3 hours before the mains exam, I used to study for 8 to 10 hours,” she told ANI in an interview.
