Actor-producer Bimal Oberoi, who plays the pivotal role of Shirani in Dhurandhar, recently attended and spoke about the transformation she went through. It is under the direction of the film Aditya Dhar.Speaking to NDTV, Bimal revealed that the casting process was anything but easy. “They had already shot a big part and were looking for this character. I heard them several times over a few months. They sent me for feedback, they called me again, it went back and forth. Then I met Aditya Dhar, and he asked me to grow a real beard and cut my head. I said yes immediately because it’s such an amazing role. A lot of preparation went into it. Since I started acting in 2018, this became a very important opportunity for me,” he shared.
‘Ranveer Singh own the movie like a star’
Bimal too had high praise for the protagonist Ranveer Singh, who plays Hamza in the film. According to him, Ranveer’s involvement went beyond acting.“Ranveer was very involved in the film; he owned it. On the shoot, it wasn’t just Hamza, he would be the first AD, he would also be the producer, and he made sure that if someone new came into the production, because I came in quite late, everything was taken care of,” he said.
Recalling his first day on the set, Bimal highlighted the support he received from Ranveer. “On my first day, we had a very emotional conversation before a crucial scene. He made sure everything around me was perfect. That’s very important to break the ice. Even though he’s younger, he came across like a top professional. That made the scene a cakewalk, he had no inhibitions after that,” he added. Apart from Ranveer Singh and Bimal Oberoi, Dhurandhar: The Revenge has an ensemble cast including Sara Arjun, Arjun Rampal, Sanjay Dutt, Rakesh Bedi, R Madhavan and Gaurav Gera.
