In a recent interaction, the actor revealed how his little one was diagnosed with DDH (Developmental Dysplasia of the Hip), due to which he was unable to run properly. He then revealed that his daughter had recently undergone a procedure.
Varun Dhawan shares that his daughter has been diagnosed with DDH
In an interview with Be A Man, Yaar! podcast, Varun Dhawan stated, “My daughter was diagnosed with DDH, in which the hip protrudes from the hip socket. Ek pair lamba chota hojaata hai jiski wajah se walk tedi hojaati hai (One leg becomes longer or shorter than the other, due to which the walk becomes uneven). You cannot walk or run properly.”In the same interview, the actor added, “You get arthritis early, you slip a disc early.”He further shared, “West main iska bahut acccha treatment hota hai birth pe hi India main har jagah nahi hai itna. But yahan bhi bahut acche doctors hain jo iska care karte hain (In the West, there is very good treatment for this right from birth, but in India it is not available to that extent everywhere. However, even here good doctors take care).
Varun Dhawan said that his daughter did not need any surgery during this treatment. He said: “They could put the hip back in with a procedure. But he had to be in a spica cast. That means he had to be in it for 2.5 months. That’s very difficult. To put him under anesthesia, and then he woke up. Now the helmet is off. I want to write a book.The actor urged all parents to pay attention to their children’s movements and if they see anything unusual, go for a check-up.Varun asked his fans not to show him sympathy as he shared about the situation to make people in India aware of DDH. He added that DDH is curable if diagnosed early in a baby’s development.
