Rajpal Yadav talks about ghosts and haunted houses
Talking about haunted houses and ghosts, Rajpal shares his insight gained from years of hearing stories and observing life. “Whether I believe in ghosts or not,” he says, “we’ve all been aware of them since childhood, through family, neighbors and stories.” For him, the idea of ghosts is closely related to the concept of energy. He explains that the soul is eternal – like air – sometimes positive and sometimes negative and that these ideas have existed for centuries through folklore, literature and cinema.For Rajpal, horror as a genre will always have its space. “Children, whether young or old, if a few horror films are released every year, they will still be appreciated,” he says. He believes that, all over the world, stories – whether through animation, caricatures or imaginative narratives – continue to keep such issues alive.

As he gears up for the release of ‘Bhoot Bangla’, Rajpal is excited about his character, promising something fresh and catchy. The film features a strong ensemble cast including Akshay Kumar and Paresh Rawal and is directed by Priyadarshan. Talking about the experience, he describes it as fulfilling and creatively satisfying, especially working with seasoned actors and a director known for his sharp storytelling.Interestingly, Rajpal rules out the idea of a ‘reunion’ with Priyadarshan and Akshay Kumar. “We never lose touch,” he says warmly. “People who lose their touch have reunions. If given the chance to speak to her younger self, she would simply say “thank you” for having the courage and energy to carry on.
