Adjust, sacrifice and apologize

And we do it so cheerfully and enthusiastically that it doesn’t even register as a sacrifice.”He added: “Did you know that women apologize almost ten times more than men in the same situation? Imagine. Ten times more.”Samantha gave a strong message: “Stop it. I’m saying this with all humility and because I care. Stop it. Because you deserve to take the place you’ve earned. Credit is not a bad word. Ambition is not a character flaw. And taking a compliment with a thank you is not arrogance. It’s just the truth.”

The actress also shared her long-term vision for women in film: “I dream that when we stop calling women-led stories that’s a category, risk, worse, forgiveness… and as if we call them stories.”She continued: “I dream of the day when women on screen are as contradictory and complicated and human as the women who watch them. Not just with someone’s wife. Or the reason why the hero finds courage. Just themselves. Absolutely.”Perhaps her most striking statement was when she added, “I dream of the day when a woman negotiates her contract as the most boring headline of the week.
