‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’ has proved to be unpredictable. The Aditya Dhar starring director Ranveer Singh, Sanjay DuttR Madhavan, Arjun Rampal, Rakesh Bedi and others have performed even better at the box office than their predecessors. It was released on March 19, but there were paid previews on March 18 and with that, the film will end its first week. With this, ‘Dhurandhar 2’ has broken all existing records and created history. Till Thursday evening, the film’s net collection in India stands at Rs 654.03 crore, while its domestic gross collection stands at Rs 780.71 crore. By the end of Thursday, the film will cross the minimum of Rs 700 crore with around 14,170 shows in the country, according to Sacnilk. Hindi version Allu Arjun‘Pushpa 2’ itself earned 425 crores in a week. Meanwhile, the total of all languages in 7 days was about 688 million. ‘Dhurandhar 2’ will surpass this clean collection by Friday. It has already become the first week grosser in single language and has surpassed the worldwide gross of ‘Pushpa 2’ which stands at Rs 1000 crore. This is monumental as ‘Dhurandhar 2’ became the fastest Indian film to achieve this feat. Records broken by the film include the highest grossing gross at the Indian box office, the highest opening of any Hindi film at the Indian box office. “Dhurandhar 2” is also the first Hindi film to earn more than 100 crores in a single day. But there is more! It is the first film to earn 100 crores in two consecutive days and the only film to do so. These are some of the benchmarks established by the film. This means that ‘Dhurandhar 2’ has surpassed ‘Jawan’, ‘Pathaan’, ‘Animal’, ‘Stree 2’ and other biggies of recent times. ‘Pushpa 2’ has been its biggest competitor and has already won its worldwide collection. Clearly, the film has set a new benchmark for Indian cinema and their potential to garner numbers at the box office despite the ban in the UAE, a big market for our films.
