In an interview with IANS, talking about his language preference, Akshay Kumar said, “In the 90s, even if it was a sari night, I always said I would speak Hindi. I always speak Hindi in general. Even in many of my conclaves, where there are English speakers, I fold my hands and say, ‘You will speak English, but I will speak Hindi’. That is my comfort.”According to the report, in the 1990s English was widely preferred for conversation; however, actors like Akshay Kumar and Govinda were always among the few who opted for Hindi. In the same interaction, Akshay shared that Hindi for him has always been about comfort and authenticity rather than perception.
