NIOS Class 10, 12th 2026: National Institute of Open Schooling (ME) has released the class 10 and class 12 theory exam date sheet for April 2026. As per the official notification, the exams will start from April 10, 2026, and will be held at designated exam centers across India. The institute has made the complete schedule available on its official website. Students appearing for Secondary (Class 10) and Senior Secondary (Class 12) exams can check their subject wise exam dates online.Currently, the practical exams of class 10 and 12 are going on. The practical exams started on March 17 and will continue till April 1, 2026.
The exams will start from April 10.
According to the detailed schedule released yesterday on March 25, 2026, the theory exams will start from April 10. Most exams will be held in the afternoon shift, usually from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM, depending on the subject. The exams will continue till May 6, 2026. The schedule covers a wide range of subjects for both class 10 and class 12 students.

Changes in some states
NIOS has said that some exam dates have been adjusted in some states like Rajasthan, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Bihar and Uttar Pradesh. This is done due to assembly elections, other competitive examinations and state-specific holidays. Students in these states are advised to check the date sheet carefully for any changes.
Admit Card and Exam Instructions
Students will be able to download their hall tickets from NIOS official website before the exams. They will be given 15 minutes to read the question paper before the exam starts. The institute has also said that there will be no change in the exam dates once announced.
Results Timeline
NIOS has informed that the results are expected to be declared around seven weeks after the final examination. Results will be made available online. Students are advised to check the official website regularly for updates and download the detailed date sheet to plan their preparation accordingly.
