Armstrong Palme, Joint Secretary (RUSA), Ministry of Education, Government of India said AI tools should move beyond basic uses such as browsing and instead use them for research, discovery and knowledge creation.Pame was speaking at the inauguration of Agenti AI Saksham workshop organized by Bangalore University. “Effective use of AI by students and teachers can lead to meaningful innovations in the future,” he said. Principal Secretary, Department of Higher Education, Khushboo G Chaudhary, while addressing the inaugural session, highlighted the growing importance of artificial intelligence in shaping the future. He emphasized that students and teachers must understand and adapt to emerging technologies in this fast-changing world. He encouraged students not to be afraid of AI but to use it responsibly and effectively for learning, research and innovation. He said that continuous learning and adaptation to new technologies will help build confidence and prepare students to face future challenges.Bangalore University Vice Chancellor, Jayakara SM highlighted that AI is creating new opportunities and students should equip themselves with relevant skills to shape their future. The workshop provided training in rapid engineering, website development, and system development. Students will also gain hands-on experience with various AI tools, including NotebookLM, Canvas, Lovable, Google Studio, n8n, and Gamma, enabling them to gain practical expertise in the field of artificial intelligence.
