The conversation about the age gap between actors who play romantic leads has been gaining momentum lately. She recently came into focus when Sara Arjun, 20, was cast opposite Ranveer Singh, 40, in Aditya Dhar’s Dhurandhar, and Rashmika Mandanna, 29, portrayed Salman Khan’s 60-year-old wife Sikandar.now, Akshay Kumar32-year-old Wamiqa Gabbi, who will next be seen in Bhooth Bangla, has weighed in on the controversy. Sharing his point of view in an interview with News18, Akshay said, “Toh kya hai? Humne pehle dekha nahi hai kya kabhi? It happens in Hollywood too. Sometimes it’s a requirement of the script. Talking about her co-star Wamiqa, she added, “I first met Wamiqa when we were shooting for Bhooth Bangla. She works in a very different way. She keeps reading her scenes and rehearsing for them. She gets very serious. She is more serious than Tabu herself. Vidya Balan, who I work with. Anees Bazmee ji’s film, on the other hand, believes in being a free actor.”Director Priyadarshan also addressed the debate, highlighting the distinction between an actor’s real age and perceived age on screen. “Something like MGR and NTR used to say… that there is a big difference between chronological age and screen age. An actor’s screen age may not be his real age. But people also accept you for your screen age. I don’t see any problem. When I shoot, I look at a couple and feel that they are not the right pair (and I may not have anything to do with their age, when I shoot). I feel (a problem) looking at them. And when the audience watches the film, I realize that they don’t either. that they feel this problem.Also starring Paresh Rawal, Rajpal Yadav, Tabu and the late Asrani, Bhooth Bangla will release in theaters on April 10. The film marks the reunion of Akshay Kumar and Priyadarshan after 14 years, following Khatta Meetha (2010). Interestingly, the upcoming horror-comedy also has a nostalgic connection with Bhool Bhulaiyaa (2007), as both films were shot at the Chomu Palace in Jaipur.
