Adah Sharma made her Kannada film debut opposite Puneeth Rajkumar in 2015’s Rana Vikrama, but is only now making a comeback with Ramarasan (June 2026), post-hit Kerala Story. He chooses films that are trusted by the director, not by the stars, joins the year for memorable roles, and joins Karthik Mahesh in BM Giriraj’s project with Hebbah Patel.

In 2015, it was brought by Kannada director Pavan Wadeyar Adah Sharma to Kannada movies. He did only a few films then. She paired with late Puneeth Rajkumar in ‘Rana Vikrama’. Even after this big start, he did not do another Kannada film till now. He is now known for his award-winning “The Kerala Story” in ‘Ramarasa’, which is set to release in June 2026.

Why Adah Sharma Chose ‘Ramarasa’

In a chat with Variety India, when asked what drew him to a film directed by ‘Ramarasa’ Karthik MaheshLacking the star power of her debut, Adah replied, “I don’t pick films based on the star cast attached to them. I think it’s the director’s prerogative. I should trust the director and he’ll make a good film. I’ll enjoy being a part of it and maybe I’ll learn something.”

Discussing the pace of one film per year since 2008, “for me, the number of films is not a monthly attendance sheet. I like people to remember my performances. The characters are sometimes more real to the people for the real person. For me, it’s not just about quality over quantity, but about trying an unexpected mix so that people can put it in a box.”

Directed by ‘Ramarasa’ BM GirirajKnown for ‘Jatta’ and ‘Mythri’, Guru Deshpande comes in only as a producer. Bigg Boss Kannada Season 10 winner Karthik Mahesh leads the cast along with Hebbah Patel, Sharan and others.
