According to OTT play, streaming platform Netflix has formally acquired the digital rights for ‘Vadh 2’, the spiritual sequel to the 2022 hit ‘Vadh’. Delivering strong box office, especially in the metros and among slow suspense fans, the film hit the theaters on February 6, 2026. Sticking to Bollywood’s standard eight-week post-theatrical window, it’s now OTT ready.

‘Vadh 2’ story and setting

Although based in a prison in Madhya Pradesh, Vadh 2 is its own story, not a direct sequel. The protagonist, Shambhunath Mishra (played by Sanjay Mishra), is a retired low-ranking guard who supplements his income by unofficially selling small batches of vegetables grown in the prison.Manju Singh (Neena Gupta), an inmate, has a polite and friendly relationship with Shambhunath. He has spent 28 years in prison for what he says is a double murder. Their peaceful routine is disturbed when Keshav (Akshay Dogra), a dangerous prisoner with political connections, suddenly goes missing. Officer Ateet Singh (Amitt K. Singh) investigates, uncovering corruption and old grudges. He wrote and directed this film Jaspal Singh Sandhu and has been praised for its stories and strong characters.
