Himachal Pradesh Home Guards Department has issued an official notification inviting online applications for enrollment of 700 Home Guard Volunteers under advertisement no. 01/2026. The recruitment drive is aimed at filling up vacancies in various categories including General Duty, Bandman, Drivers, and Technical Tradesmen. The online application process started earlier this month and will remain open till 31 March 2026 (11:59 PM). Candidates interested in volunteering with Home Guards must complete the application process through the official recruitment portal. Officials have made it clear that applications submitted through offline or alternative modes will not be entertained under any circumstances.

As per the official notification, 700 posts are distributed across various roles. A total of 358 posts are reserved for General Duty (Male) and 167 posts for General Duty (Female). Additionally, 74 posts are reserved for bandman, while 76 posts are reserved for drivers and 25 for technical tradesmen.The notification was issued on February 23, 2026, with the One Time Registration (OTR) process starting from February 25, 2026. The online application submission process started on 2nd March 2026 and will continue till the last date of 31st March 2026.

Candidates have to apply online through official website of Home Guards or designated recruitment portal. The process starts with One Time Registration (OTR) for new users. After successful registration, applicants need to login, fill Online Recruitment Application (ORA) and upload all required documents.Applicants should review their form carefully before submission and provide a declaration confirming that all documents uploaded are clear, legible and correct. The application process will be considered complete only after payment of the prescribed fee. It is important to note that no corrections or amendments will be allowed after the application has been submitted.
Important Guidelines and Selection Process
The department has insisted on strict adherence to the application guidelines. Applications lacking recent photograph and signature will be rejected outright. Similarly, submissions with unclear or poor quality scanned documents may lead to disqualification.The schedule of Physical Efficiency Test and Written Test will be announced separately. Candidates will be informed about the issue of admit card through the official recruitment portal.
