Somy Alilife lessons

As reported by IANS, Somy said, “I see age as a badge of honor. Turning 50 is a privilege. It means I survived, I learned, I grew. Why would I hide that? Every year represents strength and experience. Society tells women that they should be afraid of aging, but I think we should celebrate it. Wrinkles are not something to hide, it’s life.”Reflecting on his path, Somy finds it raw and life-changing. She shared, “My journey has been painful, confusing and very real, but it got me where I needed to be. I don’t measure my life by fame or film, I measure it by influence. Everything I went through made me someone who could understand pain and help others heal. Today, when I look back, I see everything as a goal. I have learned that pain is not the end of your story, it can be the beginning of your purpose. I have learned that silence only protects those who harm others. I have learned that healing takes time, patience and courage. And I’ve learned that when you use your voice for others, it becomes stronger than any fear.”The actor also thought about what he would say to his younger self at 50. She said: “I’d tell her to trust her instincts and never ignore red flags. I’d tell her that love should feel safe, not scary. And I’d tell her that walking away from something that hurts you is one of the bravest things you’ll ever do. Most importantly, I’d tell her it would help her ten thousand lives. When I see a survivor smile again, when I finally see someone feel safe, that’s what defines me. Not my past, not my public image, but the lives we have been able to change. That’s me.”
