Addressing the industry’s endless buzz around exploitation, Rajeev believes the problem remains the same after all these years. “We’re talking about specific exploitation, we’re talking about physical exploitation, sexual exploitation. It’s been talked about for the last decade. I don’t think I’ve seen the crime rate go down. On the contrary, I keep reading about the really brutal things that are happening. Maybe they’re reporting more, maybe they are, or maybe they’re not reporting it, but it’s happening as often as it is now. the same situations we experienced when we were closer together, where no one would talk about certain things and people would think they were the rules of the industry. I wouldn’t know what I’m missing if I don’t talk to them. But when it comes to reading, when it comes to consuming news from channels on different platforms, from newspapers, I don’t see that the crime rate is going down.”

Furthermore, he reflected on how personal weaknesses and life circumstances can influence the chances of difficult career moments. “Sometimes I have a different way of looking at it. I understand that sometimes you are in your weak state and you submit, but you are also looking for an easy way out. And you present yourself in an emotional or vulnerable situation in your life. You are also looking for an easy way out, otherwise you would struggle like everyone else, those who do.“

Rajeev emphasized that discussions about exploitation are layered, taking multiple perspectives. “So when you victimize yourself and say this happened to me. I’m not trying to disparage anybody, but every time you hear about this job 15 years ago, I was there and I was exploited for years. Why did you stay for years? And you were probably looking for the easy way out. Now it didn’t turn out the way you saw it, and now you’re exploiting. Of course, someone was definitely exploiting you in your vulnerable situation, but you were also looking for an easy way out.’
