New Delhi: Guru Gobind Singh Indraprasth University has announced to launch a new postgraduate program in Robotics and Artificial Intelligence for the upcoming academic session 2026-27. The new course will be offered by the university’s School of Information, Communication, and Technology.This course has been launched to meet the growing need of professionals in the field of robotics and artificial intelligence. The course intake will cover a total of 21 seats, and admissions will be made by 31 March 2026, as is the case with all courses in the university.Program details and industry demandDemand for robotics and artificial intelligence is growing in India, as noted by Pushpinder Bharti, professor of US ICT at Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University. The demand for farmland is increasing as the farmland area in India is increasing. The need for professionals like AI engineers, data scientists, and robotics engineers is still growing, as noted by Prof. Pushpinder Bharti. There will be employment opportunities in established organizations as well as newly formed organizations in this sector. Apart from this, this sector is also going to play an important role in the development of the economy.Eligibility criteria are defined.To be eligible to apply for the programme, a student must secure at least 60% marks in the relevant examinations. Eligible candidates to apply for the program are students of related fields like Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering etc.Candidates with Post Graduate Degree in relevant fields like IT, Electronics, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, Statistics, Operations Research, Applied Physics etc.Admission process and selectionAdmission to the program for the academic session 2026-27 will be granted on the basis of merit prepared from the valid GATE score of the relevant subjects. In case the seats are not vacant after considering the merit list of GATE qualified candidates, admission will be given to those candidates who have qualified through the Common Entrance Test conducted by the University.In case of vacant seats after considering the merit list of CET qualified candidates, the vacant seats will be filled from the merit list of CUET qualified candidates.
