New Delhi: Anaya Bangar recently spoke about her gender confirmation surgery in Thailand and the emotional journey behind it. Sharing a heartfelt post with a picture from the hospital, Anaya highlighted how difficult the process was for everyone around her, while also showing off the father. Over time, Anaya said the family slowly came to terms with the change, going through stages of “confusion, questions and growth.” What stood out most for Anaya was father Sanjay’s presence during such a crucial moment. “Having my dad by my side in one of the most important moments of my life means everything,” Anaya said. Although her support was not immediate, Anaya described it as becoming “genuine, unconditional, and strong.” Anaya summed up the experience by saying, “Growth takes time. Love takes time. But it’s all worth it when it comes,” explaining how patience played a key role in strengthening their bond.Before transitioning, Anaya was known as Ariane and took the path of introversion. CricketPlaying at competitive levels and representing Mumbai in U-16 cricket and Pondicherry in U-19 matches, and even participating in the Mumbai U-23 trials.Looking back on childhood, Anaya said it always felt different. “When I was about eight or nine years old, I would sneak into my mother’s room, put on her clothes, look in the mirror and say I’m a girl,” Anaya previously recalled, indicating that the journey of self-discovery began very early in life.
