Fans draw parallels between latest death on ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ and Izzie and Denny’s story
In one of the latest episodes, one of the new residents, Lucas Adams, loses his love interest on the show after he dies. The previous episodes showed a sweet romance blossoming between Adams and one of the hospital’s cancer patients, Katie Rogers (played by Samantha Marie Ware). In one of the last episodes of the 22nd season of ‘Grey’s Anatomy’, Katie, who has been fighting the last stages of gastric cancer, will go to a nursing home. Lucas and Katie lie in bed and talk about their lives and their plans, along with things they would do if their circumstances were different. While Lucas is trying to use drugs to prolong Katie’s life, however, Simone tries to stop him and also hides medical supplies. As Lucas rushes to the hospital, it’s too late, and when he returns, Katie is already dead.

After the last episode of season 22 aired, many fans were worried about the incomplete storyline. Many were quick to point out that the show’s creators had pulled another “izzie and denny” out of Katie’s death and that Lucas couldn’t be with her. About the story of Izzie and Denny
In Season 2 of ‘Grey’s Anatomy’, resident Izze (played by Katherine Heigl) meets a cardiothoracic patient at the hospital named Denny (Play). The two instantly click and fall for each other. As their romance blossoms, Denny’s health deteriorates. In need of a new heart, Izzie does the unthinkable and cuts her L-VAD wire to put her name at the top of the transplant list. Although Denny is able to operate, he has a stroke hours later in his hospital bed. Izzie had gone in a surprised ball gown; however, by the time he got ready and arrived, she was gone. This moment in the show was one of the most famous and historical scenes of ‘Grey’s Anatomy’, and fans could not help but notice the parallel between the two stories.
