Jacob Young reveals that he was once addicted to opioids
While appearing on the ‘Imperfectly Perfect’ podcast, the actor got candid about his struggles throughout the year. Young revealed that he was addicted to opioids for almost 7 good years of his life. “I spent seven years of my life wasted on opioids – I was still trying to figure out what was wrong, but I didn’t know. I just needed to be numb… It was the only thing that made me feel normal,” she said. He mentioned that it happened when he was prescribed opioids after an operation.Elaborating further on the matter, the actor said that he had a troubled upbringing, which affected his life even as an adult. When he became addicted, he found it hard to deal with everything, although the hardest part was breaking the news to his wife, Christen Steward. He still sat down and explained everything to her, and during the podcast, he revealed that he fully supported her and was there to support the 46-year-old every step of the way.
This is not Jacob Young’s first bout with substance abuse
In the podcast episode, the actor went into more detail about his upbringing and how he started using substances. He mentioned that the first time he was introduced to something like this was through marijuana. At the age of 14, he revealed that he used to smoke with some of his friends. Later, when fame found her in her mid-20s, the actress revealed that she turned to alcohol to cope with all the things going on in her life. However, he revealed that at one point he started using cocaine. When he began to explain why he did what he did, Young revealed that the places and people he was surrounded by all the time played a big part in all of this.
