The actor said that he came close to living on the West Coast because work often took him there, but his family changed that plan. Instead, he remained rooted in New York, where he built his life and raised his children, while continuing to work in major films including ‘Kill Bill’ and ‘Pulp Fiction’.

Page Six highlighted Thurman’s comments in her new InStyle cover interview, where she reflected on the opportunity that shaped her personal life and her place in the industry. “Honestly, I’ve always wanted to go to Los Angeles,” Thurman said. He explained that he even rented a place there, because he often worked there. But the plan quickly changed. “I even got an apartment at one point because I worked there a lot, and as soon as I signed the lease, I got pregnant with my daughter, about six weeks in.“

That moment kept him in New York and, for his part, left him somewhat outside the inner circle of the industry. “I never spent time in Los Angeles, and because of that, I never really integrated into the community of my profession, and I think that’s a really bad thing,” he said.
