Speaking with PEOPLE about her involvement in the docuseries ‘Dirty Rotten Scandals,’ a two-part episode that tells the behind-the-scenes story of ‘The Price Is Right,’ Hallstrom opened up about the events that led to her departure from the show after nearly two decades on “Barker’s Beauties.”

Hallstrom explained that her problems on the set stemmed from Dian Parkinson’s affair with Bob Barker and its ending. Parkinson accused Barker of sexual harassment, and employees were asked to testify under oath about the environment at the game stage. “Every time you went to the studio, you had to sit with the lawyers, all they wanted to hear was all the bad things about Dian and how Bob couldn’t sexually harass Dian,” he shared in the documentary.

“I wanted nothing to do with it,” Hallstrom continued. “I was the only one who was asked to testify and I didn’t. I didn’t want to commit a crime of perjury, which is what it would be like if I testified.”

Hallstrom says she believes her weight was an excuse to fire her, and the real reason was her refusal to testify in court. Explaining the whole situation, he said: “I wasn’t surprised that they used that as an excuse, a reason, a justification for firing me, but when they asked me why I was fired, I said, ‘They told me it was because my weight was a problem.'”After Barker’s death in 2023, Hallstrom reconsidered sharing her story. When he was given the opportunity to do so, he went ahead.
