The first trailer of Tom Holland‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ has made history by becoming the fastest to cross the 500 million views mark within 24 hours of its release.Within hours of its release, early industry estimates indicate that the film’s trailer has surpassed the record views previously held by the game ‘Grand Theft Auto VI’. According to reports, GTA set a new benchmark when its trailer collected 475 million views in 24 hours. However, the Dutch ‘Spider-Man’ has surpassed these numbers and crossed the 500 million mark in the same period.Official figures are expected to be confirmed by Sony on Thursday. This comes after the huge success of ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home’, which crossed $1 billion at the box office, making it the highest-grossing ‘Spider-Man’ film. Interestingly, these numbers are also remarkable, as the trailer of the film has been leaked not once, but twice in the last few months. While the official trailer launch gave fans a 4K look at the superhero in action, with his new costume, new character introductions, villains and more, the clip offered little new content than what was first leaked online in highly pixelated clips. Earlier this year, a taped version of the trailer was leaked online on fan handles. The clip gave fans not only a glimpse of the action, but a visual as well Sadie Sinknature of Mark Ruffaloit’s the hulk Jon Bernthal‘s Punisher and the villainous team The Hand. While the clip was initially dismissed as the creation of AI, moves by Marvel and Sony to remove the videos online fueled speculation that the trailer was genuine. ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ marks a significant change in Peter Parker’s journey. Set four years after the events of ‘No Way Home’, the film follows an adult Peter living alone after erasing himself from everyone’s memories, including the Avengers and those he loved. The official synopsis reads: “A crime-fighter in New York who doesn’t know his name, he’s devoted himself to protecting his city – a full-time Spider-Man – but as the demands on him increase, the pressure sparks a surprising physical evolution that threatens his existence, even as a strange crime pattern poses one of the most powerful threats.”The trailer also teased a darker twist to the story with Peter rumored to be ‘Man-Spider’ as he faces an internal battle with himself. Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, Tom Holland returns as Spider-Man ZendayaStarring Jacob Batalon, Sadie Sink, Jon Bernthal, Mark Ruffalo, Michael Mando and Tramell Tillman. The film will release in theaters on July 31 in English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam in all premium formats.
