There are times when we look back on our lives and let the past dictate our future. However, today’s quote from Jelly Roll is about redemption and focusing on what’s next in your life instead of what happened in the past. His journey of redemption plays a key role in this quote as well. The quote of the day is the rapper’s speech at the 57th annual CMA Awards. He gave the speech after winning the title of New Artist of the Year in 2023. Quote of the day reads: “I don’t know where you are in your life or what you’re going through, but I want to tell you to keep going, baby. I want to tell you, ‘Success is on the other side.'” I want to tell you: ‘It’s going to be okay!’ I want to tell you that the windshield is bigger than the rearview mirror for a reason, because what is in front of you is much more important than what is behind you!”
The meaning behind the Jelly Roll quote
The rapper’s quote explores themes of empathy, survival and perspective. According to her acceptance speech, Jelly talked about the importance of moving forward and taking one step at a time, no matter what. The rapper drew inspiration from his experiences in the music industry with this quote. He says you have to take a chance every day and show up for yourself. It assures listeners that the bottom is a transit point, not a final destination. It also talks about the importance of focusing on what’s in front of you rather than what’s behind you. Comparing this instance to a windshield that’s bigger than a rearview mirror, instead of focusing on the past, you can choose to focus on your future, which is far more important than anything else. Most of the time, many of us tend to live in the past; however, Jelly assures us that there is much to look forward to in life. All you have to do is learn to look past the obstacles that life has thrown at you and take one step towards your decided goal.
