Kangana Ranaut starrer ‘Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata’, saw a huge drop in earnings on its first Monday at the Indian box office. The film, which released on Friday, struggled to keep its collections above Rs 1 crore at the box office in its opening weekend.
‘Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata’ Daily 4 collections
On Monday, the film’s collections fell below Rs 1 crore. According to early estimates on Sacnilk, the film collected a nett of Rs 65 lakh on Day 4 in 1,866 shows. This number represents a huge 63.9 percent drop in collections from Sunday’s earnings of €1.80 million. While every film dips in the collections on its first Monday, the film may find it difficult to pick up its pace after falling below the one crore mark. With the latest numbers, “Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata” has earned a gross collection of 5.86 crores in India and a net collection of 4.90 crores in India after four days in theatres.
‘Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata’ vs ‘Main Vaapas Aaunga’
The film’s struggles are more apparent compared to its competitors. Imtiaz Ali directed ‘Main Vaapas Aaunga’ collected Rs 1.25 crore nett on Day 4 from 2,139 shows. Although the film also saw a decline on weekdays, its drop was comparatively less than 50 percent from Sunday’s Rs 2.50 crore. The film’s total collection now stands at 8.10 crore gross and 6.75 crore nett, comfortably ahead of ‘Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata’.
‘Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata’ vs ‘Haunted 3D’
However, the clear winner of the weekend remains ‘Haunted 3D: Echoes of the Past’. The horror thriller earned 2.20 crores on Monday, a drop of 38.9% from Sunday’s collection of 3.60 crores.Despite the drop, the horror film on Monday was significantly higher than both of its competing releases.
Road ahead
The coming weekdays will be crucial for ‘Bharat Bhhagya Viddhaata’. If the collection remains below Rs 1 crore, the film may find it difficult to significantly improve its overall box office collection. The film, set against the backdrop of the 26/11 attacks in Mumbai, generated attention before its release and received support from political leaders, with some states granting tax exemptions. However, this support has not yet translated into strong returns at the box office.
