‘The contract said I had to speak against Salman Khan,’ says actor Sonu Mmishra on ‘Kala Hiran’ and why he backed out of the project | Hindi Movie News

The controversy surrounding ‘Kala Hiran’, the film it is said to be inspired by Salman Khanfrom 1998 blackbuck poaching caseit continues to snowball. After the veteran actor Govind Namdev He recently alleged that he was duped by the filmmakers and chose to walk away from the project, actor Sonu Mmishra has now made similar claims.Mmishra, who was recently seen opposite Salman Khan in ‘Sikandar’, revealed that she was originally cast in the lead role in ‘Kala Hiran’, a character she believes was modeled on Salman. However, he decided to leave the project after just two days, when he heard about the intentions of the managers.Mmishra said he initially agreed to the film because he believed it would give him an opportunity to portray a character based on the superstar. In an interview on the Bollywood Crazies YouTube channel, he said, “I was very excited about Kala Hiran. I got to play superstar Salman Khan. I also started shooting. But when a narrative starts building, you realize what the intention of the film is. Being a professional actor for the last 15-16 years, I wouldn’t like to have a film perspective, but I wouldn’t like to have a film perspective. Salman Khan as a film superstar in a negative way, then I prefer to do other projects.”The actor said that although he had already started shooting, he had not yet signed a formal agreement. According to him, the concern arose when asking for the script and details of the contract.“After two days of shooting, I asked them for the script. Being the lead actor, I asked them to share the script and clauses of the agreement. The managers also realized that they can’t control me. After many delays, they showed me the contract, and it said that I have to speak against Salman to the media as well. So these things are against my ethics,” he said.Mmishra alleged that a clause in the agreement required him to make statements against Salman Khan in the media, something he felt was unacceptable and against his professional values. What’s more, the filmmakers have indirectly accepted that the project is meant for Salman. The actor also asked the producer Amit Janithe decision to publicly violate a legal notice sent about the film.“The legal notice they are leaking has not even reached them directly. It is just to create hype. It has made the authors famous. There is nothing more,” he claimed.According to Mmishra, the notice was issued in April, but the controversy surrounding it gained momentum a month later. The latest statements came shortly after producer Amit Jani alleged that he had received death threats over the film. In a much-discussed video, Jani broke the legal notice and responded to the controversy.“What should I respond to this note? In the last 36 hours, all his fans, from Dharavi to Jogeshwari, have sent 1,000 messages, including death threats, saying that if I come to Mumbai they will cut off my head. So who should I answer to? Should I respond to the thousands of abuses given to me by this Salman tool, should I take notice of the Khan threats? This is my response to that note.”The incident has added another layer to the ongoing controversy surrounding ‘Kala Hiran’, which continues to be under scrutiny for its link with Salman Khan’s long-running blackbuck poaching case.
