Directed by Robert Pattinson, ‘The Batman Part II’ has added several new faces to its cast including Sebastian Stan, Brian Tyree Henry, Scarlett Johansson, Charles Dance and Sebastian Koch. Until now, it was widely rumored that Stan would be playing Harvey Dent, also known as Two-Face. A new report, however, suggests otherwise.
Who is Sebastian Stan really playing?
According to freelance journalist Jeff Sneider, Stan is not playing Harvey Dent. Instead, that role is said to belong to Brian Tyree Henry. Sneider’s newsletter says that Stan will play Victor Zsasz, a serial killer and Batman villain who marks his flesh for keeping up his victim count.
What does this mean for the rest of the cast?
Harvey Dent, also known as Two-Face, was previously played by Aaron Eckhart in Christopher Nolan’s ‘The Dark Knight’ trilogy. With Stan said to be out of the running for the role, speculation linking Scarlett Johansson with Dent’s wife Gilda and Dent’s father Charles Dance may also have to be revisited.The new report also reveals that the film will incorporate the story of the Court of Owls, a secret society of Gotham aristocrats who have controlled the city for centuries, adding another important element to the sequel’s narrative.

Speaking at the Cannes Film Festival last month, Stan told Deadline that he was playing “a lot of roles” in the Batman sequel, adding: “I’m excited, I’m nervous, and I’m trying to keep surprising myself.”

The story is said to follow Pattinson’s caped crusade as he investigates deeper corruption and rising tension in Gotham City.They have already started recording in various locations around the UK and in a large studio facility. ‘The Batman Part II’ will hit theaters on October 1, 2027. The critically acclaimed spin-off series ‘The Penguin’ starring Farrell and Cristin Milioti, which premiered in September 2024, has also moved to television.
