One of Bollywood’s most iconic films, Lagaan, turns 25 on June 15. To mark the milestone, actors Aamir Khan and director Ashutosh Gowariker joined the cast and crew of the Oscar-nominated classic for a grand celebration in Mumbai on Saturday.The event turned into a nostalgic gathering of the entire Lagaan family as several actors and industry colleagues came together to celebrate the lasting legacy of the film. However, what grabbed the attention equally was Aamir’s relationship with his ex-wives, Reena Dutta and Kiran Raomaking the evening a family affair as well.
Aamir arrives with his girlfriend Gauri Spratt
Aamir was seen arriving at the celebration with girlfriend Gauri Spratt. The couple, who confirmed their relationship in 2025, held hands and happily posed for the paparazzi.Meanwhile, Kiran Rao arrived with son Azad Rao Khan, and Reena Dutta also joined the celebrations for the film that she helped bring to life as an executive producer.Several members of the Lagaan team, Rajendranath Zutshi, Yashpal Sharma, Aditya Lakhia and Akhilendra Mishra were present. Filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani, Prasoon Joshi, Ashutosh Gowariker and his wife Sunita Gowariker were also spotted at the event.







Ira Khan celebrates mother Reena Dutta’s contribution
A day before the reunion, Aamir’s daughter Ira Khan shared a touching tribute to her mother, Reena Dutta, as Lagaan turned 25 and returned to theaters in a special re-release.Sharing a post on social media, Ira wrote, “My mom made a beautiful movie,” along with hashtags to celebrate the film and her mother as a producer.Heartfelt message Reena Dutta’s name appeared on screen as an executive producer during the screening of the film, prompting Ira to cheer her mother proud. Ira’s husband Nupur Shikhare also attended Friday’s celebrations.

Released in 2001, Lagaan remains one of the most celebrated films in Indian cinema. Set during the British colonial era, the sports drama combined cricket, patriotism and human endurance in a story that resonated with audiences around the world.The film gained international recognition when it became the third Indian film to receive a nomination in the Best Foreign Language Film category at the Academy Awards. It was also a huge success at the 49th National Film Awards, winning eight honors, including most popular film.The soundtrack, composed by Oscar-winning musician AR Rahman, continues to be appreciated by fans even decades later.
Aamir Khan to marry Gauri Spratt
On the personal front, Aamir is gearing up for another big milestone. According to reports, the actor will tie the knot with Gauri Spratt on July 5 in front of close family and friends.Aamir was married to Reena Dutta from 1986 to 2002, with whom he shares two children, Ira and actor Junaid Khan. She later married Kiran Rao in 2005, and the two separated amicably in 2021. They continue to be parents to son Azad.
