Dhyan Sreenivasan‘Secret of Kalinga’ has been postponed again, and the makers have set June 18 as the new theatrical release date. The mystery-horror-comedy was originally slated for May 21st before the team moved it to June 11th. The last round was held a day before that date. The makers have not shared an official reason for the new delay, instead focusing on a revised release schedule and the final rollout of the film.

Cinema Express reports that the makers announced the new release date on Wednesday. The report said that ‘Secret of Kalinga’ will now hit the theaters on June 18 after missing the first June 11 schedule. He also stated that the film was changed once from its original date of May 21st. There has been no official statement explaining why the authors pushed for the re-release.Directed by Saneesh Unnikrishnan, ‘Secret of Kalinga’ falls into the mystery-horror-comedy space. The film combines suspense and humor and follows a premise that the makers have largely kept under wraps until now. Saneesh Unnikrishnan co-wrote the screenplay with Jishnu M Aaryan.Dhyan directs the cast, and also Althaf SalimPopular social media content creator Riyaz Khan and Nithin Parameswar in pivotal roles. Their presence gives the film a mix of familiar faces and a digital-age cast with a large online audience.

Basheer Varandharappilly and Sulthan produced ‘Secret of Kalinga’ under the banner of Aira Films. Asrith Santhosh directed the cinematography, and Aswanth Raveendran edited the film. Gokul Sreekandan composed the music. Dhanush Harikumar and Vimaljith Vijayan jointly composed the background score.The film adds to Dhyan Sreenivasan’s busy roster. Rajesh was last seen in Amankara’s ‘Kalyanamaram’ and also played child actor Devananda of ‘Malikappuram’ fame. Dhyan also has Nijish Sahadevan’s ‘Thevar’ in the works.The makers are expected to go ahead with the June 18 release date and resume promotions as per the new theatrical plan.
