Mohanlal’s latest crime thriller ‘Drishyam 3’ is all set to begin its digital journey after a successful theatrical run. Directed by Jeethu Joseph, the film follows the story of Georgekutty and his family.The third episode hit the theaters amid high expectations. After the theatrical success, the directors have officially announced their streaming debut.

The official announcement was made by the streaming platform through social networks. Sharing a series of images of Georgekutty and his family, the platform revealed the release date of the film’s digital release. In their caption: “Georgekutty and family are waiting for you #Drishyam3OnPrime, 18th June.”The announcement confirmed that ‘Drishyam 3’ will start airing on Amazon Prime Video from June 18.

The film continues its run at various centres, though the collections have naturally slowed down after three weeks on the big screen.According to Sacnilk, the film collected Rs 26 lakh nett on day 22 in India. This represents a drop of around 29.7 percent from the Rs 37 lakh net collected the previous day.Currently the net collection in India is 107.96 crores and the gross collection in India has reached 125.24 crores. Currently, the gross overseas collection is 111.65 crores.“Drishyam 3” has collected Rs 236.89 crore worldwide. The film is just a few lakhs away from crossing the 237 crore mark worldwide.

ETimes gave the film 3 out of 5 stars and stated, “The film struggles with pacing. The narrative takes too long to establish its emotional conflict, and the suspense doesn’t build organically for much of the runtime. The challenge is understandable. The audience is already familiar with the crimes, the families and the emotional stakes. But when trying to create another layer on top of an already complete story, every now and then the script gets stretched. While the original film closed in on its moral ambiguity, the second installment effectively expanded the psychological implications. This third chapter often feels like a continuation driven by the weight of a successful franchise rather than an urgent storytelling need.”Featuring Mohanlal in the role of Georgekutty, the ‘Drishyam 3’ actor will team up with director Jeethu Joseph for another suspenseful chapter.
