The Tamil Nadu Cyber Crime Wing has nabbed the alleged accused behind the leak of the footage online. VijayUnreleased movie ‘Jana Nayagan’ directed by H Vinoth. The arrest comes a month after clips of the unreleased film surfaced on social media platforms.According to India Today and CyberCrime Wing, the accused was missing for a long time until officials tracked him down and arrested him on June 10. Another person connected with the piracy network was also arrested.With these latest arrests, the total number of those arrested in this case has reached 19.
The investigation began after it was leaked online
The case started in April after the makers of ‘Jana Nayagan’ alleged that footage from the film was uploaded and shared online without permission. The leaked clips quickly spread on social media and other websites.The team expressed concern over the leak as the film was still awaiting its official release. Officials said the latest arrests came after detailed digital tracking and investigation. It is believed that the newly arrested person played an important role in sharing the leaked footage online.
‘Jana Nayagan’ release delay
On the contrary, earlier, several people were arrested in the investigation, including a freelance editor accused of accessing and sharing the footage. The problem also affected the editing department. Editor Pradeep E Ragav was suspended by the editors’ association for working with a freelance editor who was not registered with the organization. However, the association said that Ragav was not directly involved in the leak.On the other hand, ‘Jana Nayagan’ is still awaiting clearance from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). The makers have not yet announced a new release date for the movie.
