The young actor also recalled his memorable experience working with the director Aditya Dhar On Uri: The Surgical Strike, he was praised for creating a safe and supportive environment on set.
“I have never done anything inappropriate”
In an interview with Haterrfly, Riva was asked if she ever encountered any misbehavior or couch potato while working as a child actor.Answering firmly, she said, “No. Never.”The actor credited his mother for always being by his side during his journey in the industry.“My mom has always been there for me. She’s my knight in shining armor,” Riva shared.He added that he has been lucky to work with good people throughout his career.“Touch wood, I’ve always gotten to work with the best people,” he said.
“Aditya Dhar made sure I was comfortable”
Talking about her experience on the sets of Uri: The Surgical Strike, Riva recalled how director Aditya Dhar went to make sure she was comfortable before shooting an emotional sequence.“I still remember when I auditioned and got a call asking me to come straight to his house. When I met him, I felt like I wasn’t meeting him for the first time,” he said.According to the actor, Dhar took time to understand what kind of atmosphere he needed before enacting an emotionally demanding scene.“My mom asked me if I needed a different environment and wanted to make sure that no one was distracting me or I needed a place when I was joking,” Riva recalled.He said the filmmaker’s sensitivity and confidence helped him deliver the scene with confidence.
“Everyone was crying after my first take”
Riva also recalled the emotional response she received from the cast and crew.“When I did that crying scene, everyone on set was emotional. There wasn’t a single person who wasn’t crying or clapping,” she shared.The actor admitted that the memory still floods him.“When I think about that moment, I still feel emotional. They were happy tears because I received so much love from everyone during my first reception,” she said.Reflecting on her journey as a child actor, Riva said that having her mother by her side and working with filmmakers like Aditya Dhar helped her navigate the industry confidently.
