Shahid Kapoor on the unpredictable nature of films
Talking to The Hollywood Reporter India, Shahid revealed that he now seeks his team’s input before finalizing any project. Addressing the unpredictable nature of the film business, the actor stated, “When you work for so long, you expect more to come out right. But that’s how it works now. How many years you have worked has nothing to do with it. Movies are very unpredictable. Being an actor, you don’t control how it’s done. You have some control, but not complete control over what you do as an actor. The director has to decide the frame.”
Shahid Kapoor reveals his big change after the failure of ‘O’Romeo’ and ‘Deva’
The actor admitted that while his acting skills remain confident, he has begun to question the reliability of his judgment in selecting films. He added: “One thing I’ve started telling my team now is that maybe I shouldn’t dictate my scripts. Maybe I know exactly what to do in front of the camera, but maybe I don’t know which film to choose or my criteria might be driven by pure artistic instinct, and maybe that’s not the ground. So now, actually, I insist on narratives not only. I always did them alone, but I’ve changed that. It’s a big change in my life after these two films. I want three more people in the room now, so he’s not the only one who imagines like that.’
