Former Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin Young sensation Vibhu Suryavanshi has been praised after scoring yet another impressive innings for India A in the ongoing tri-series in Sri Lanka.Suryavanshi, who recently earned his first India call-up for the upcoming T20I series against Ireland, continued to impress with a brilliant innings against Afghanistan A in the 50-over format. Opening the batting, the 15-year-old took charge from the start and scored 44 off just 22 balls. After scoring just 14 runs in the opening game of the tournament, Suryavanshi looked far more content in his second outing. While his explosive power has already become a hallmark of his batting, this innings showed another side to his game. The youngster mixed aggression with control, regularly finding gaps and playing several beautiful strokes along the ground rather than relying solely on big hits.His innings of 44 included nine boundaries and highlighted why many believe he has the technique and temperament to succeed beyond the T20 format.A half-century was well within reach before Suryavanshi’s innings ended. Attempting to uppercut a short delivery over the wicketkeeper, he found Mohammad Shiraz in the deep, who completed the catch to earn him his fifty.Despite being out, Ashwin was impressed by what he saw from the youngster. Taking on X, the former India off-spinner highlighted the quality of Suryavanshi’s strokeplay and timing, suggesting that the innings was about more than just brute force.“Out!
