'The Godfather Part III' star Anthony Guidera has died aged 65 of cardiac arrest

Actor Anthony Guidera, whose career spanned film and television projects from ‘The Godfather Part III’ to ‘Species’ and ‘Baywatch’, has sadly passed away. He was 65 years old.

Guidera reportedly died on June 6 after complications from a cardiac arrest in May, according to a TMZ report. The actor was on life support for about three weeks before his death.

Anthony Guidera’s wife makes a statement

News of Guidera’s death was confirmed by his wife Valarie Anderson, who shared an emotional tribute on social media. In a post, she wrote: “It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden death of our beloved Anthony. We are devastated and trying to breathe as hard as we can, taking each moment as it comes. Please keep this eternal light in your hearts and our family in your prayers.”

Born in San Francisco (California) on October 18, 1960, Guidera began his acting career in the film ‘The Godfather Part III’ directed by Francis Ford Coppola. He played a bodyguard named Anthony and appeared alongside a star-studded cast that included Al Pacino, Diane Keaton, Talia Shire, Andy GarcĂ­a, Eli Wallach, Joe Mantegna, Bridget Fonda, George Hamilton and Sofia Coppola.Over the years, Guidera had an extensive career in film and television. His film credits include ‘The Rock’ (1996), ‘Precious Find’ (1996), ‘Til There Was You’ (1997), ‘The Postman’ (1997), ‘Armageddon’ (1998) and more. He was last seen on the big screen in 2005 in LA Dicks.
