The next installment of “Toy Story” has already created quite a buzz, with many fan-favorite actors returning along with new ones. Now, according to the latest reports, together Taylor Swift entering the project, the expectations for the film have increased tenfold, along with the excitement! While it has been confirmed that the ‘Opalite’ singer has done a song Tom Hanksanimated film, the team is pulling out all the stops to keep the song a top secret till the last date.

Speaking with Variety at SXSW London, Thomas Jordan, a VFX artist on the animated film’s team, revealed some surprising details about Swift’s involvement. He shared that the collaboration has been going on for months; however, it was closed to keep up the excitement and was even hidden from the opening screenings of the animated film.Elaborating on the matter, he added: “She (Taylor Swift) actually saw an early version of the movie, asked to see it before it was finished, and wrote the song and then asked us if we wanted it. And we said: ‘Yes! Yes, yes.” That was in February, so we’ve had to keep it a secret ever since.”The secrecy surrounding the film was taken quite seriously, Jordan said during the interview. He mentioned that the team had to create a “decoy version”, which was released to the press and most of the ‘Toy Story 5’ staff. “The team that made Toy Story 5 didn’t know about this secret until last week,” he shared, revealing the lengths they went to to make sure nothing was leaked.As for how the collaboration ended up in the first place, Jordan also said, “Apparently, Taylor Swift is a big fan of Toy Story like a lot of us.” Taylor Swift created a song called ‘I Knew It, I Knew You’ for ‘Toy Story 5’, which will be released worldwide on June 19.

Greta Lee, from projects like ‘Past Lives’, ‘The Morning Show’ and ‘Tron: Ares’, joins the team as ‘Toy Story 5”s main villain, Lilypad.
