Arjun Sarja’s family action entertainer ‘Blast’ continued its theatrical journey with another steady day at the box office. The film saw only a slight drop in collections compared to the previous day.As per Sacnilk estimates, ‘Blast’ collected 1.91 crore nett on day 9. The latest figure represents a 5.9 percent drop from the previous day’s collection of 2.03 million. The action film achieved that collection in 1,611 shows.
Worldwide Cross Rs 39 Cr
“Blast” has steadily increased its overall total through domestic and overseas businesses. The net collection in India is currently 27.69 crores. The film’s gross collection in India has reached 31.82 crores so far. ‘Blast’ has earned 7.30 crores in international markets. The worldwide gross collection has increased to 39.12 crores.
Opening week played a big role
The film benefited greatly from its opening week numbers and this was mainly due to its impressive WOM.Day 6 generated Rs 3.45 crore from 2,746 shows with 29.1 percent occupancy. Day 7 added Rs 2.75 crore from 2,544 shows while the occupancy stood at 26.1 percent. On Day 8 it collected Rs 2.03 crore from 2,255 shows and registered 23.8 percent occupancy.The film completed its first week with a total collection of 25.78 crores. Day 9 added another 1.91 crore to the total collection.Occupancy trend on day 9 showed stronger audience movement in night shows. ‘Blast’ registered an overall occupancy of 23.01 percent for its Tamil version.Morning occupancy stood at 15.15 percent and afternoon occupancy rose to 19.38 percent. Later evening shows had 17.62 percent occupancy. Night shows recorded the highest occupancy of the day at 35.85 percent.‘Blast’ follows Rajaram, a karate practitioner who lives with his wife Neelaveni and daughter Nila. His wife and daughter are also skilled in karate. Their quiet middle-class life changes completely with the involvement of a corporate group.ETimes gave the film 4 out of 5 stars and wrote, “Blast’s best, however, is in the small details. For instance, the biggest action stunt in the film doesn’t come from Arjun or Preity. And I know who you’re thinking of, it’s not even Abhirami’s.The review added: “However, the film gives its biggest action pivot to the fourth person, which makes the set-up interesting. From Preity’s stunning introductory fight sequence, the film has a block of action every five to ten minutes.
