The 44-year-old tennis legend will compete in doubles at the Queen’s Club tournament in London next week, partnering Canadian teenager Victoria Mbuku, who is 19, 25 years younger than Williams.Mboko shared the news on Instagram after practicing with Williams on the grass courts in West London. Posting a photo of the two together, she wrote: “The queen is back.”Mboko said he was delighted to play alongside one of the game’s greatest players. In her post, she wrote: “An honor to share the court with one of the greatest athletes of all time this week.” She added, “Even more excited to play doubles together! Tennis is so special.”Young Canadians have long admired Williams. Speaking at the French Open last week, Mboko said: “I really look up to her. I mean, the fact that she even knows me is exciting.”Williams, who won 23 Grand Slam singles titles during her career, will retire from professional tennis in 2022.
