Ranveer Singh sends LEGAL NOTICE to FWICE over 'Don 3' non-cooperation directive; case heads to court - Reports

Conflict between actors Ranveer Singh and the Federation of West Indian Cine Workers (FWICE) over his exit from ‘Don 3’ has taken a major legal turn as the actor issued a formal legal notice to the film workers body on June 2, 2026. The move is one of the sharpest climbs in Bollywood in recent years.

Ranveer Singh files a court case against FWICE non-cooperation directive

According to the NDTV report, the legal notice was issued on June 2, days after the non-cooperation directive was issued. Ranveer has challenged the directive through legal channels, arguing that FWICE has “no jurisdiction” over what his team describes as a “contractual dispute” between the actor and the producers. The exact demands made in the advertisement have not been disclosed. FWICE has also called a press conference for June 3 (today) to address the escalation.

What caused the Ranveer Singh-FWICE conflict?

The controversy started when she reportedly walked out of ‘Don 3’ directed and produced by Ranveer Singh. Farhan Akhtardays before production goes on floors. The production house has reported losses of around 40-45 million, citing the pre-production costs and scheduling commitments incurred to suit the actor. After the walkout, FWICE issued a non-cooperation directive, asking all affiliated unions to refrain from working in any project featuring Ranveer. The organization said that it saw the actor’s exit as a matter that could cause the producer to suffer huge financial losses and hinder the execution of the project.FWICE later clarified that the directive should not be described as a “ban”, although many in the industry and media used that term.

Answer by Ranveer Singh

Ranveer Singh responded through an official spokesperson shortly after the FWICE announcement. Without directly addressing the allegations, the actor maintained a measured attitude.“Ranveer Singh has the utmost respect for the film fraternity and everyone associated with the Don franchise. During the latest developments surrounding Don 3, he has consciously chosen to remain silent as he believes that professional discussions and personal equations are handled with dignity, maturity and mutual respect,” the statement said.

The veteran producer moves on Bombay Civil Court

Adding another dimension to the issue, veteran producer and former IMPPA president TP Aggarwal has challenged the FWICE move by filing a petition before the Bombay Civil Court in Dindoshi. The petition names FWICE and IMPPA as respondents, arguing that neither person, association or trade organization has the legal authority to prohibit or issue non-cooperation directives against film people. Court notices were sent to both institutions.
