Mumbai’s Juhu Police arrested 47-year-old Rashi Chhabria for stealing jewelery and luxury watches worth around Rs 25 lakh from his house. Chhabria had been visiting the Tandon residence since 2020 to take care of Raveena’s 86-year-old mother Veena Tandon and over time gained access to restricted areas of the home.
Raveena Tandon’s mother’s jewelery and luxury watches were allegedly stolen
As reported by News18, Chhabria allegedly broke open a locker inside the family’s Juhu house, making off with gold and diamond jewelery belonging to the actor’s elderly mother, Veena Tandon. He is also accused of stealing two expensive watches owned by Raveena’s brother, a film producer. Rajiv Tandon.
Raveena Tandon’s family discovered the alleged theft earlier Dussehra
According to the police complaint filed by Rajiv, the alleged theft came to light on October 2, 2025, when family members inspected the jewelery in preparation for the Dussehra festival and found that the locker had been tampered with. The missing valuables include gold bangles, necklaces, rings, earrings, a diamond studded mangalsutra and additional diamond jewelery worth around Rs 25 lakh.
Raveena Tandon’s family filed a complaint after the valuables went missing
When the family noticed the jewels were missing and questioned Chhabria, the theft, which he initially declined to press charges, came to light. He stated that he was arrested after filing a complaint with the police. While some of the stolen watches have been recovered, authorities are still working to recover the remaining jewelry.
Raveena Tandon’s case continues to be investigated
Investigators said Chhabria allegedly said the jewelry had been given to a third party and would be returned. However, when the valuables were not recovered, Rajiv Tandon approached the police. Since then the Juhu Police is investigating the case and efforts are being made to trace the rest of the stolen jewellery.
