‘Kattalan’ 2nd day collection has seen a big drop
According to Sacnilk estimates, ‘Kattalan’ earned 1.60 crores on Day 2 in India. The latest figure represents a 57.9 percent drop compared to the opening day’s collection of 3.80 crore.The film was released in 3,582 shows in the markets on its second day. Despite the decline, cumulative profits have continued to rise. ‘Kattalan’ has so far collected 5.40 crores in net collections in India. The gross collection in India is currently 6.21 crores.

Audience participation in the language versions was lower on day 2. The Malayalam 2D version had an overall occupancy of 13.16 percent.The Telugu version registered an occupancy of 12.36 percent, while the Tamil version recorded 10.06 percent.Kerala delivered Rs 95 lakh on Day 2 and remained the strongest region for the film. Andhra Pradesh-Telangana added Rs 35 lakh, Karnataka Rs 10 lakh and Tamil Nadu Rs 9 lakh. The rest of India brought in 35 lakhs.

‘Kattalan’ also found itself in controversy due to the social media activity surrounding the film. Posts from a page operating under the name Antony Varghese Fans Club started circulating online and made claims of negative campaigns against the film.Antony Varghes later clarified that the page had no connection with him or his official fan groups.“My point has been that a fake Facebook page is being posted as my ‘fan page’ circulating posts and spreading false information.
