Those people are more dedicated, because they don’t struggle, they don’t fight it.”Recalling his long and difficult journey before becoming an Indian citizen, Adnan said, “I had to fight for more than 18 years and there were many rejections along the way. I didn’t scream about it in public. I have been subjected to tremendous scrutiny on both sides of the border. But when you get it. [Indian citizenship]your loyalty is greater than anyone else’s. So when someone doubts it, I laugh at them like they inherited it, but I fought for it.“
