Sarah Michelle Gellar and Freddie Prinze Jr.One of Hollywood’s most enduring couples has listed their longtime Los Angeles property for $10.5 million. The couple, who married in 2002 after dating in 2000, bought the property in Brentwood’s exclusive Mandeville Canyon neighborhood in 2013 for $6.1 million. The couple raised their son and daughter at home. According to their agent, they have since moved to a newly built residence elsewhere in Los Angeles.
About the property and its features
The 7,318-square-foot traditional-style residence sits on a third of an acre surrounded by scrub grass and was built in 2006.The two-story entry opens to a spacious living room centered around a fireplace, along with an oversized formal dining room. The home also has a library full of books, an eat-in kitchen, and a large family room. The first suite has a balcony overlooking the gardens, and the property has a total of five bedrooms and six bathrooms.Listing agent Cindy Ambuehl of Christie’s International Real Estate Southern California praised the home’s interior and design updates.“It was quite wonderful when they bought it. Sarah has a wonderful eye for design, so she brought in her designer to pick out the furniture and wallpaper and tapestries,” he said.Over the years, the couple made several additions to the property, including a swimming pool and a staircase leading to the attic, which became a playroom, teen den and gym.“They spent a lot of time there. They would have movie nights there,” added Ambuehl. The grounds are complete with an entertaining patio, BBQ area and a resort-style pool with a waterfall. Before officially listing the property for sale, the couple looked into renting it out and listed it for $60,000 in March and April 2025, according to Redfin.
Why Mandeville Canyon remains a famous site
Mandeville Canyon’s privacy has long attracted celebrity residents. Over the years, notable residents have been Gwyneth Paltrow, Harrison Ford, Dr. Dre, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Kendrick Lamar.Ambuehl notes that field listings are relatively rare.“People who live here stay for a long time,” he said. “You’re transported from L.A. to the Rolling Hills and you have big oaks and sycamores, and there’s only one way in and one way out.”
