In a recent interview with SCREEN, Mona Singh opened up about the “tricky” shoot, a surprise visit from Shah Rukh Khan and the meta moment that brought her ‘Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa’ days to life.When asked if shooting the climax of ‘The Ba***ds of Bollywood’ felt like a revival of ‘Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa’, Singh replied, “I come from a very different world when I was asked to shoot the climax. I had just finished shooting Kohrra season 2. So I was from such a dark and bleak world and I was suddenly thrown into this climax. I said, “Okay, give me a minute.” And Shah Rukh Khan was also there on the set. She encouraged me: “Come on, Mona!” I was dying. He was shooting a commercial in the same studio, so he came to visit. I told Arya, “I can’t dance like that in front of your father!” It felt like Jhalak Dikhla Jaa all over again. It was a lot of fun, but it was a little tricky because Bobby wasn’t filming with us. We had to match the steps and then everything was done in VFX”.
