Paul Heaton, the famous former leader of Housemartins and The Beautiful South, has doubled down on the surprises for his fans. The 62-year-old announced new album ‘Jenuis’ and an extensive tour for the end of the year with surprise guests. Furthermore, the artist has released the album’s lead single, ‘Favourite Kind Of Idiot’. Here’s a closer look at Paul Heaton’s predictions and upcoming events.

Celebrating 40 years in the music industry, Paul Heaton will take to the stage with special guest singer Rianne Downey, along with the Lightning Seeds. Announcing a list of concert destinations, the singer will kick off at the Newcastle Utilita Arena on Thursday, October 29, 2026. With pit stops such as Glasgow, Leeds, Plymouth, Sheffield, London, Nottingham, Cardiff, Liverpool and Birmingham, the huge tour will end in Manchester. Tickets will go on sale from 5th June 2026 at Aloud.com from 9.30am.

Paul Heaton announces ‘Jenius’ and talks about his next album

As for Heaton’s next album, ‘Jenius’, it will be released on 21 August 2026 on all platforms, digital, CD, cassette and vinyl. “If anyone calls me a genius, I’m always like, ‘What?! With a J?!’ It would obviously be misspelled,” Heaton said, according to Bang Showbiz. With themes of “love and loneliness, pubs and booze, community and advice, a nod to football, the state of the nation and the general wisdom of kindness”, he said the songs are anything but modest. “If I can get a variety of people from all kinds of backgrounds to say, ‘Oh, that could be about me or you,’ then I’ve been successful,” she stated when talking about her goals.
