Honey Singh, who has been out of the limelight for several years while battling addiction and bipolar disorder, reflected on her struggles in a recent podcast appearance.Speaking candidly with ABtalks about the years between 2011 and 2014, Honey Singh admitted that the immense fame and financial success had completely changed him as a person. “I wasn’t happy. I was at my peak in 2013 and 2014. I wasn’t in my right mind. My ideology was different at that time. When I did, I walked differently, talked differently and disrespected everyone. I thought I had done everything. I even called myself God,” he admitted.The singer also admitted that drugs and arrogance had pushed him into a dangerous mental state. “I was making money and being successful at a very young age, and while I was doing that, I was also taking drugs. I was in a very demonic state. I didn’t like that version of me,” he added.
They tried to warn Shah Rukh Khan and Akshay Kumar
During the interview, Honey Singh revealed that several Bollywood stars noticed her destructive lifestyle and advised her to change before it was too late. The rapper recalled that he had a close relationship with actors like Shah Rukh Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar during his meteoric rise in the industry. According to him, their honest personalities left a lasting impression on him.“I don’t want to blame anything on the entertainment industry. I had the opportunity to share screen space with legends and have personal access to their lives at a very young age. People like Shah Rukh Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar, they are such simple people, there is no darkness,” he said.Honey Singh especially remembered Shah Rukh Khan repeatedly warning her about her habits. “They were watching me and telling me to stop what I was doing because it was wrong. Especially Shah Rukh Khan and Akshay Kumar. Shah Rukh Khan told me many times, ‘This is going to ruin you, kill you and destroy you,'” she revealed.
