How industry heavyweights tried to break the peace between Ranveer Singh and Excel Entertainment
But before things escalated to this point, there were efforts behind the scenes to find a solution. Aamir KhanSajid Nadiadwala, Karan JoharFarhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani among others. In that meeting Ranveer’s team presented a special offer to Excel Entertainment in an attempt to bridge the gap before things went too far.
Ranveer Singh’s team offered Rs 10 cr upfront and Rs 25 cr discount on his upcoming film to Excel Entertainment
According to Bollywood Hungama, Ranveer’s team offered to pay Rs. 10 crores in front of Excel Entertainment. In addition, they also offered a discount of Rs. 25 crores in any other film Excel wants to do with him apart from ‘Don 3’. The idea was to compensate Excel immediately, while keeping professional relationships open for the future. The Excel team felt that the offer of a future discount made no practical sense as they had no intention of collaborating with Ranveer again. Farhan and Ritesh were very clear that they did not want to work with Ranveer Singh after what he had been through in the last two years. They believed that delays, uncertainty and, ultimately, serious financial and professional damage. Therefore, they refused the offer. Their stand was that Excel should be compensated in advance.

According to industry sources, the banner has formally filed a claim for compensation with the concerned bodies, citing losses due to extensive preparation, scheduling and groundwork for the film before Ranveer’s exit.
Ranveer Singh felt that Excel had lost faith in him, he was also unhappy with the script of ‘Don 3’
Ranveer’s camp, however, tells a very different story. The actor and his team reportedly took great exception to what they perceived as Excel’s attempts to explore other casting options during a difficult period in Ranveer’s career. Adding fuel to the fire, there is a debate about the industry that was also discussed about the film Hrithik Roshan At one point, the development seems to have gone down well with Ranveer. Obviously, Ranveer felt that if Excel didn’t fully protect him when he needed their trust, then the trust was broken. He was not convinced that the script was a suitable follow-up to ‘Dhurandhar’. After the impact of that film, he wanted complete conviction from the director and the banner. He felt Farhan was distracted and the project didn’t have the kind of 100 percent commitment it needed. That’s why the offer was made. Rs. 10 crore upfront, plus Rs. 25 crore discount on an upcoming film was Ranveer’s way of trying to resolve the issue amicably. But Excel wanted no future cooperation. They wanted compensation.
